Actual Headline: “Lightning strike at Caylee memorial 'could be a sign from the angels'”

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that lightning has struck a tall tree near the spot where Caylee Anthony’s remains were found…seriously. Lightning hitting a tree is now national news (the Sentinel story has been spread by news outlets throughout the country). Just when I thought this shit couldn’t get any crazier here comes some additional crazy for your enjoyment:
"It could be a sign from the angels that they aren't happy with what's happened," said 40-year-old Keyla Lugo of Orlando
"God has spoken. Casey's guilty," said Nicole Perez of Vero Beach
'It's eerie," Vicino said, adding that the mark left by the lightning strike symbolizes celestial justice for Caylee because "there was no justice here on Earth."
Really? Do people actually think that God and/or angels are expressing their displeasure with the verdict by having lightening strike a tall tree in the general area where the girl’s remains were found? I know it’s almost unheard of for lightening to strike a tall tree (that’s sarcasm by the way) but damn, don’t you think an angry god could deal with Casey Anthony a little more directly?
Could this kind of story originate from anywhere but Florida? Survey says….BZZZZT!
Thanks to “Sponge” Bob Dernetz for cluing me into this story.
